Compared to last week, feeders sold slightly uneven as steers sold 3.00-6.00 lower, heifer calves sold steady to firm and a light test of yearling heifers sold with a weak to lower undertone. Demand was mostly moderate to good, best for 400-525 lb steer and heifer calves but moderate to light for calves carrying flesh. Cattle futures have moved lower mid week and buyers adjusted their bids accordingly. Supply was heavy and included everything from some thin yearlings to several calves, weaned and un-weaned; overall the quality was attractive, but a majority of the calves were carrying some flesh. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady, bulls 3.00-5.00 higher.
