Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, similar comparisons were scarce but feeders sold with a mostly steady undertone except for a large consignment of light fleshed yearling steers that sold with a higher undertone. The yearlings coming off grass sold with very good demand as those cattle will be much harder to find each week moving forward now, calves sold with moderate demand with buyers becoming cautious as health risk is near its peak this time of year. Corn saw another day of gains which continues to pressure the feeder market, especially with dry conditions across many parts of the country. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows sold and bulls sold 2.00-4.00 higher.
