Compared to very few comparable sales last week, steers sold steady to 3.00 higher and heifers traded mostly steady to 5.00 lower for 400-500 lb calves. The majority of the feeders were good quality un-weaned calves that saw only small discounts to the few weaned cattle as long as they were on a health program and not overly fleshy. Demand was mostly good for a moderate supply and cattle futures showed some strength on Thursday. The lightest demand was seen for 300-475 lb heifers. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-3.00 lower.
