Compared to last week, feeders over 500 lbs. sold steady to 5.00 lower, mainly taking off some of the extreme tops seen last week. Calves under 500 lbs. sold steady to sharply higher, especially on several drafts of thin fleshed calves that were in the offering today. All in all, the market remains very strong even as buyers seemed glued to some app on their phones today watching as cattle futures continued fall lower all day, adding up to some big losses in the last two days of trading. Feeder contracts have declined just on either side of $10.00, but the cash markets continue to defy reflecting the overall lack of stock available. Fed cattle begin trading midday and thus far are once again on track to set new records again this week. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher.
