A large crowd was on hand for this month's Special Cow Sale at Lolli Brothers Livestock with a number of active bidders in the seats. Supply was moderate but consisted of a wide variety of replacement classes, from commercial bred heifers and young cows, mostly in the 3rd stage, to a couple groups of registered Angus cows and heifers, as well as several strings of cow/calf pairs, most of the calves weighing over 300 lbs. Winter weather had a tight grip on North Missouri this week but demand was still good as side roads have become more passable and the extended forecast looks much less threatening.
