Compared to the last auction two weeks ago, 5 weight steer calves sold steady to firm, with 600-650 lbs and 750-800 lb steers trading with a lower undertone on limited comparisons the 650-700 lb steers sold steady to 8.00 lower. Heifer calves weighing 450-550 lbs sold steady to firm, with a part load of 653 lb heifers also trading with a firm undertone the best test was on the pot loads of 700-730 lb heifers trading 6.00-15.00 lower than the pot loads from two weeks ago. Demand was moderate to good on a moderate supply with the overall quality especially good on the heifer calves and yearlings. Several stick out sales included the heifers with 63 hd weighing 653 lbs at 405.50, 156 hd heifers averaging 711 lbs at 374.85 and 77 hd heifers 730 lbs at 363.50. Also in the offering was a consignment of replacement heifers from Galaxy Beef selling by the head with the top end of 71 hd weighing 806-812 lbs at 3550.00-3600.00 per head. Slaughter cows sold sold steady on mostly average dressing cows.
