Compared to last week, steer calves under 650 lbs were not well tested on a light offering selling mostly in small packages and groups, 650-700 lbs sold 4.00-8.00 higher with yearlings over 700 lbs selling with a higher undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-450 lbs sold with a higher undertone on a light test, with 450-550 lbs trading 5.00-10.00 higher, 650-700 lbs sold steady on comparable sales with three pot loads of 700-750 lb heifers selling 6.00-9.00 higher compared to similar weights from two weeks ago.. The main highlight of Tuesday's auction was the 3 pot loads of yearling steers over 750 lbs and 4 pot loads of yearling heifers weighing 700-760 lbs all selling with good demand on and active market. Stick out sales included pot load of steers weighing 761 lbs at 303.25, pot load of steers weighing 887 lbs at 281.75, two pot loads of heifers weighing 736-745 lb at 283.00, pot load of heifers weighing 759 lbs at 282.85. Slaughter cows on a light offering were mostly average dressing selling steady.
