Compared to the last auction two weeks ago, 400-650 lb steers sold steady to firm, with steers over 650 lbs not well tested. Feeder heifers weighing 450-600 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher with three pot loads of 650-700 lb heifers trading steady. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate, with a good quality offering of heifers weighing 550-600 lbs and 650-700 lbs all sold with good demand. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Grains closed sharply lower with May corn 22 1/4 cents lower and December corn 11 3/4 lower. May soybeans closed 21 3/4 lower with November beans 20 1/4 lower. Feeder cattle contracts responded higher with April 3.52 higher and May 4.32 higher.
