Compared to the last auction two weeks ago, steer calves weighing 550-600 lbs sold firm to 5.00 higher, with 600-750 lb steers and 550-700 lb heifers selling steady to firm. Three pot loads of 6 weight heifers and pot load of 725 lb steers all sold with good demand. Slaughter cows traded steady on a light test. CME cattle futures had a rough start after Labor Day closing with triple-digit losses as most commodities on Tuesday including grain, equity markets, oil all had a bearish influence and tone to start the week.
