Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold mostly steady but with spots 5.00 higher to 5.00 lower. Demand was good to very good for a moderate supply. The runs of cattle are transitioning from nearly all LTW spring born cattle to a mix of yearlings and younger, fleshier summer/fall born calves. The thin fleshed grazing cattle are highly sought after but most of the fancy fall born calves aren't selling too far behind. The market is at an all time high, but also in a little bit of a wait and see period for the next piece of market moving information. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady.
