Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves sold mostly 5.00-10.00 lower, yearlings 5.00-7.00 lower except for a few select packages of fancy quality calves that sold steady early in the day. Demand was moderate for a heavy supply. The warmer, dryer weather brought a large offering to town following last week's lighter run due to the wet and cold. The fall run is on for sure now and although there has been a hard freeze, the temperatures are still fluctuating and it's difficult to keep calves healthy. Cattle futures have been volatile as of late and Tuesday was another big downer; as the day wore on and the board moved lower it was apparent that buyers were adjusting accordingly.
