Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold mostly steady, spots 5.00 lower on heifer calves. Demand was good for a moderate supply that included several loads of yearlings and some fancy new crop calves. Cattle futures had a correction day and were down hard across the board, but buyers didn't shy away and you would of had a hard time telling there was any negativity to the market by sitting ringside. The new crop calves coming in off the cow saw basically no discount if they weren't carrying flesh but that will likely soon change with some unstable weather. A big rain fell across the region over the weekend and it was more than welcomed. Slaughter cows sold steady to 3.00 lower.
