Compared to last week, based on light comparisons steer calves sold steady and yearlings sold with a firm undertone. Heifers sold steady to 4.00 higher. A nice offering of yearlings was on hand with several loads and large consignments on offer. Demand was moderate to good, best for the loads of steers and 550-725 lb heifers. Also, several new crop calves were in the offering and demand was moderate with varying degrees of discounts depending upon quality and how the cattle had been handled as usual. Supply was moderate to heavy. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 1.00-300 lower.
