Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves sold mostly steady; yearling steers over 650 lbs sold 7.00-14.00 lower following last weeks higher market. There have been no recent comparable sales to the loads of 750-825 lb yearlings heifers but the undertone was lower. Most of the yearlings were in moderate to moderate plus flesh conditions. The current summer live cattle contracts are hovering around 95 cents a pound and the recent volatility in the market left feeders conservatively buying cattle at lower prices. Several loads were on hand once again and the supply was moderate to heavy. Demand was moderate to good for calves and moderate to light for yearlings. Slaughter cows sold 8.00-13.00 lower.
