Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 7.00 lower except for steer calves under 550 lbs being lightly tested with comparable sales and selling with a lower undertone. Supply and demand was moderate with the overall quality more uneven than last week. The coronavirus continues to be the main headline and has caused erratic volatility in the markets, but mostly has driven cattle futures sharply lower in a short time. As of close on Tuesday, summer live contracts sit under 1.00/lb. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady except for higher dressing boning cows trading 3.00-5.00 higher.
