Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 3.00-7.00 higher. The exception was a load of 860 lb steers selling 10.00 higher than the last comparable sales two weeks ago. Following a bullish COF report and gains in the futures market, there was definitely a feeling of optimism in the barn and demand was very good as buyers know yearlings coming off grass will be harder to find each week now. Supply was light but included some quality groups of cattle. Slaughter cows sold steady.
