Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded steady to 5.00 higher except for 550-600 lb steers selling fully 10.00 higher on increased demand. Demand was moderate to very good for steers and 550-750 lb yearling heifers, but moderate to light for 350-500 lb heifer calves, some 850-925 lb heifers and later in the sale. Supply was moderate. Cattle futures trended lower again on Tuesday and its no news to anyone that excessive rain has made doing much of anything around the farm very difficult. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold steady to 2.00 lower.
