JRS had a good crowd on hand this Thursday afternoon for their replacement cattle special sale. The majority of the sale consisted of nice groups of open heifers ready to breed this fall. The bred cows and handful of pairs tonight saw a significant price drop from last month's sale, mostly from $400 to $800/head lower. Effects of consistent 100 degree weather and severe lack of rainfall in the area are putting pressure on buyers, as well as major uncertainty in the feeder cattle market over the past couple weeks.
