Compared to last Wednesday, fat breaking slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 lower while boning and lean cows sold 1.00-3.00 lower and the bulk of slaughter bulls sold 1.00-2.00 lower. With the inclusion of a replacement cow and bull special immediately following the regular cow and bull sale the offering included a heavy supply of bred cows and cow/calf pairs. Dryer conditions across much of the area seemed to put some pressure on the prices producers were willing to pay for those replacement cattle. Supply was heavy and demand moderate for slaughter classes.
