Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Based on limited comparisons with last week, steers and heifers mostly steady with a few packages of weaned steer calves 5.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady. Demand moderate to good. Supply light. The latest feeder index is nearly 3.00/cwt higher with lower corn and another low placement number expected in the upcoming Cattle on Feed report. Very warm day with rain and more seasonal temperatures in the immediate forecast.
