Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers firm to 10.00 higher. Slaughter cows 2.00-3.00 higher. Demand good to very good. Supply light. Not a real good test of the market this week with mostly smaller consignments but prices were higher on packages of any numbers and quality. The cattle market is beyond anyone's wildest dreams at this point with fed cattle another 7.00-10.00 higher last week selling from 240.00-244.00/cwt in the north. Lighter run as the vast majority of feeders have already left the country and with several producers in the hay field this week.
