Compared to last week, steers under 650 lbs. sold 2.00-5.00 lower with those over 650 lbs. selling mostly steady. Heifers under 600 lbs. sold 2.00-5.00 higher and those over 600 lbs. steady to 2.00 lower. The supply was moderate and a very different make up than last week. Significantly fewer sizeable drafts of thin fleshed feather weight steers this week and more smaller bunches of odds and ends which held the market back and made comparisons very tough. Feather weight heifers were closer in line to last week's offering and although fewer in numbers still found very good demand. Better numbers of cattle over 600 lbs. in the offering this week with a few partial to near load draft lots of steers that had very little to compare with last week. The weather made a big change from last week's record highs as 80's were replaced with low 40's and measureable snow had accumulated once or twice since last week depending on which direction folks had traveled from. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady on a lighter offering.
