Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers and heifers 5.00-12.00 lower. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 lower. Demand moderate. Supply light. The feeder market is under pressure right now with lower feeder futures due partly to economic concerns and falling markets overall. This is in addition to seasonal calf market pressure and widespread dry conditions which are limiting destinations for the lighter cattle. Mostly smaller packages and below average feeder quality overall this week.
