Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 650 lbs steady to 5.00 lower, over 650 lbs steady to firm. Feeder heifers under 550 lbs 2.00-6.00 higher, over 550 lbs steady except some unweaned 2.00-4.00 lower. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 lower. Demand moderate to good. Supply moderate. The feeder market seems to be slogging along seasonally in the absence of bullishness in the short term given weekly kills that routinely come up short and a slightly bearish placement figure in Friday;s Cattle on Feed report that found bigger numbers of 900 lb plus cattle placed in August.
