Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Steers and heifers near steady though very lightly tested. Slaughter cows steady. Demand moderate. The coronavirus continues to have a large negative impact on prices and is also slowing feeder cattle movement. Although we are likely still early in the virus process in the U.S., so far the event is another case of the rich man dancing while the poor man pays the band with the value of fed cattle seemingly unaffected so far based on slaughter volumes and cutout values just with a higher percentage of the income landing in packer pockets.
