Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers 1.00-4.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 lbs 1.00-3.00 higher, over 600 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 higher. Demand moderate to good. Small offering with very muddy conditions in the area but with some high quality consignments. Fair amount of optimism seen even as the fed and futures markets continue to slide gradually lower. It's difficult to know how to apportion the blame with coronavirus, seasonally weaker cutout values and heavy carcass weights all possible culprits.
