Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Feeders sold with a lower undertone with no recent price comparisons available. Slaughter cows steady. Supply moderate. The Tyson fire has the fed cattle market in a tough spot that may last for a while. With cutout values falling but still well above prefire levels, there is really not much incentive for packers to create the pull through of lower meat prices since they are already running at near full capacity. With apparently adequate fed supplies and the Tyson plant not expected to be fully operational for several weeks it looks like we may continue to be price takers for the time being.
