As filed

Compared to the last sale four weeks ago, steers and heifers over 500 lbs sold 15.00 to 20.00 higher. Light steers under 500 lbs traded sharply lower after a dramatic upswing in early December and their heifer mates about steady. Slaughter cows weak to 4.00 lower. Optimism certainly spilled over into the new year and the 2025 cash feeder trade started off with a bang. The offering was full of top notch reputation consignments, mostly weaned 60 plus days with all the work done. Recent moisture, deteriorating pen conditions and a concerning forecast didn't slow bidding as buyers competed for new inventory. The optimism wasn't limited to the feeder market as several nice strings of replacements found new homes as well. Supply heavy, demand very good.
