As filed

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers and heifers traded sharply lower. Slaughter cows 3.00 to 8.00 higher. While on paper, some weights and classes did appear to trade as much as 25.00 lower or even more in drastic instances, that's not a truly fair or accurate representation of this week's market activity, as the trade here in Green City two weeks ago was simply off the charts, what one in our industry might call the opposite of a black swan event. Combine that with this week's bird flu influenced market volatility and the high prices from two weeks ago simply couldn't be achieved as buyers have pulled back on the reins pretty hard since Monday. Quality was above average throughout the day with several reputation consignments on offer and buyers were active, ready to own cattle, just at lower price levels, at least until some of the dust settles. Supply moderate, demand moderate, good in spots.
