Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded 10.00 to 20.00 higher, many spots 25.00 higher. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 5.00 lower. The local cash trade got off to a hot start, trading sharply higher early, and only got better as the day went on, topping out at some really impressive price levels along the way. Quality was excellent from start to finish and with a large number of active buyers, very few cattle had trouble finding a ride to a new location. Still a lot of mud remaining throughout the area but most consignments came to town in really clean condition. Supply heavy, demand very good.
