Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the last sale three weeks ago, steers and heifers sold sharply higher. Slaughter cows 6.00 to 10.00 higher. Dry conditions and another surge in the feeder market brought a large run to town this week. The offering included several top notch consignments including over 500 heifers from a local long-time reputation backgrounder. It's been a long run with very little correction but feeder cattle are riding the coattails of record setting fat trade, reaching some pretty salty prices along the way. Supply heavy, demand very good.
