Compared to the last special two weeks ago, feeder steers under 700 lbs had limited comparisons and sold with a weak to lower undertone, 700-850 lb steers had the best test and traded steady to firm with two weeks ago. Feeder heifers weighing 400-600 lbs had few good comparisons but sold with a sharply higher undertone, 6 weight heifers sold steady. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Demand was moderate to good, with the best demand on the 400-600 lb heifers and 700 to 850 lb steers. CME cattle futures have had sharp losses over the last two weeks with Feeder Cattle contracts closing Friday with triple-digit losses, but overall feeder cattle prices remain supportive. Friday's WASDE grain report was released with USDA raising estimated corn yields 1.7 bpa to 176.3 bpa average pushing estimated production to 14.99 bb for 2021-22 crop.
