Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold steady to firm, 500-600 lb sold 3.00-6.00 higher with spots 8.00 higher, over 600 lbs sold with a steady to firm undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lbs sold steady to 3.00 higher with 500-725 lb heifers trading steady to 3.00 lower with overall quality not as attractive as two weeks ago. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady. Demand was moderate to good with the best demand on the 5 weight steers with supply moderate to heavy. Bulk of the feeders weighed 350-650 lbs. . Cattle on Feed Report released Friday with On Feed at 95 percent; Placements at 78 percent and Marketings at 76 percent. Placements were the second lowest for April since the series began in 1996. April Marketings are the lowest since the series began in 1996.
