As filed

Compared to the last special two weeks ago, feeder steers weighing 550-750 lbs and heifers weighing 500-700 lbs all sold mostly 5.00-8.00 lower on comparable sales. Demand was moderate with supply moderate. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady. CME cattle futures had sharp triple-digit losses on Friday giving up all their gains for the week. The August 1 Cattle on Feed released Friday afternoon reported On Feed at 100 percent; Placements at 98 percent and Marketings at 107 percent. This makes the fourth month in a row that the On Feed number is the largest since the data series started in 1996.
