Compared to last week, the best test was on a pot load of 822 lb steers trading 4.00 higher than a pot load of similar weight from last week, all other weights of steers have not had a good recent market test, but overall going back over the last several weeks would have a lower undertone. Heifers have not had a recent test as well, but would have a lower undertone as well except for the 5 weight heifers pretty much holding their own trading near steady. Demand was moderate to good, best on the yearling steers over 650 lbs as this week is seeing a break from the high temperatures. The fed cattle market found its footing last week trading mostly 2.00-3.00 higher giving the yearling market some support. Few stick out sales included the pot loads of steers with pot load weighing 721 lbs at 388.00; pot load 822 lbs at 353.00. Slaughter cows traded steady to firm.
