Compared to last week, the market pretty much gave back all it lost last week with steer calves under 700 lbs and heifer calves under 600 lbs selling mostly 20.00-40.00 higher with ten pot loads of 825-1045 lb steers trading 15.00-30.00 higher. Heifers over 600 lbs were very lightly tested but sold with a higher undertone. Demand was good to very good on the pot loads of yearlings as cattle buyers felt much better about the market this week as prices came back to near were they where in most cases. Last week's fed cattle trade late week at 234.00-235.00 helped give support to the market as well as Feeder Cattle futures Monday closing on the front four months up 3.70 to 6.00. Several stick out sales included 180 hd of steers averaging 888 lbs at 350.00, 56 hd of steers weighing 1044 lbs at 325.00, and 60 hd of thin blk heifers weighing 556 lbs at 414.75. Slaughter cows mostly average and low dressing selling steady to 5.00 lower.
