Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs were not well tested, with 500-550 lbs selling steady to 7.00 lower, 550-600 lbs were lightly tested with 600-700 lbs trading mostly steady with spots 8.00 higher on the 650-700 lb steers, pot load of 720 lb steers off the same consignment as last week weighing the same sold 7.00 higher with a pot load weighing 748 lbs trading steady, three pot loads of steers weighing 887-929 sold fully steady to firm. Heifer calves weighing 400-500 lbs on a light test sold steady, with 500-550 lbs selling steady to 4.00 higher, and 550-650 lbs sold steady on a light offering. Demand was good on a light to moderate supply with the best demand on the pot loads of yearling steers. Overall steer calves under 600 lbs saw much lighter numbers and overall quality was not as attractive as last week. CME Cattle futures rebounded on Monday with Feeder Cattle having triple digit gains of 380-402 on the front 4 months. Stick out sales included the pot loads with a pot load of steers weighing 720 lbs at 346.75, pot load steers weighing 748 lbs at 345.00, pot load steers weighing 887 lbs at 316.00, pot load steers weighing 898 lbs at 310.00 and pot load steers weighing 929 lbs at 307.75. Slaughter cows sold steady on a light offering.
