Compared to the last auction three weeks ago, steer calves under 450 lbs sold with a higher undertone, with 450-750 lb steers selling mostly 10.00-20.00 higher, spots 25.00 higher with yearlings over 750 lbs all trading with a higher undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-600 lbs sold mostly 15.00-30.00 higher, with 600-650 lbs trading 8.00-15.00 higher and over 650 lbs traded with a higher undertone. Callaway Livestock started the year in good fashion with a heavy offering of feeders as overall quality was very attractive with quality running deep on calves and yearlings. A very active market to start the year with buyers very aggressive to own cattle. Several stick out sales included 24 head of fancy steers weighing 521 lbs at 392.00, pot load weighing 671 lbs at 322.00, 36 head of steers weighing 759 at 301.00, pot load steers weighing 835 lbs at 279.00 and 112 head weighing 971 lbs at 256.50 to name a few.
