Compared to last week, 450-650 lb steer calves sold 7.00-10.00 higher, spots 15.00 higher on the 550-600 lb steers, with 650-700 lbs selling with a sharply higher undertone especially on the top quality steers compared to last week's much lighter offering, over 700 lbs consisted mostly of pot load lots traded with a firm undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 450-600 lbs sold 5.00-10.00 higher, spots 12.00 higher on the 550-600 lb heifers, 600-650 lbs sold steady to firm, over 650 lbs traded with a firm to higher undertone on last week's limited offering. Demand was very good on the steer and heifer calves with a good quality offering of weaned calves all sold on and active market. Several stick out sales included 36 head 571 lb steers at 330.00, 24 steers weighing 654 lbs at 298.00, pot load 810 lb steers at 257.25 and pot load 736 lb heifers at 260.00. Friday's Cattle on Feed Report was pretty much as expected with Placements about 1 percent larger than expected at 105 percent with the report pretty much neutral. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 3.00 lower with the bulk being average to low dressing cows.
