Compared to last week, a lighter test this week with 4 weights steers on a light test selling steady to firm, 500-550 lb steers sold mostly 5.00-7.00 higher, with 550-700 lbs selling with a firm to higher undertone on last week's light offering, two pot loads of top quality 734 lb steers sold 6.00 higher than last week's pot load with 800-825 lb steers trading with a higher undertone with no recent test. Feeder heifers weighing 400-700 lbs sold steady to firm with spots 2.00-4.00 higher on the 500-550 lb heifers. Demand was good on a moderate supply with a consignment of over 400 head of top quality home raised yearling steers selling with some impressive prices included two pot loads of steers weighing 734 lbs at 298.25, two pot loads of 818 lb steers at 270.25 and a pot load weighing 672 lbs at 314.25. Friday's Cattle on Feed Report was friendly with Placements at 93 percent the lowest June replacements in eight years. Slaughter cows on a light test sold mostly 4.00-6.00 lower than last week.
