Compared to two weeks ago, steer calves weighing 400-650 lbs sold steady to firm, with 650-700 lbs trading with a firm to higher undertone and over 700 lbs were scarce. Feeder heifers weighing 400-600 lbs sold unevenly steady with 600-700 lbs selling mostly 2.00-5.00 lower on a light test. Demand was good on a moderate offering. Market pretty much eclipsed/blocked out any bad news in the futures collapsed from last Friday and Monday's modest losses except for April on Feeder Cattle contracts as Live Cattle closed with modest gains. Buyers were active on calves especially steer calves weighing 400-650 lbs with a part load 56 hd yearling steers weighing 655 lbs at 299.50. Slaughter steers and heifers sold with a firm to higher undertone with slaughter cows trading firm to 3.00 higher.
