Compared to last week, 400-500 lb steer calves sold 8.00-15.00 higher, with 500-600 lbs trading fully steady to firm, 600-650 lbs sold mostly 8.00-10.00 higher, with 650-700 lbs not well tested on comparable sales, 700-800 lbs sold steady to firm and over 850 lbs sold with a higher undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lbs sold mostly 5.00-10.00 higher with the most advance on the 400-450 lbs, 500-550 lbs sold steady to firm, with 550-600 lbs selling mostly 2.00-5.00 lower and 600-650 lbs trading 5.00-10.00 lower with a pot load weighing 697 lbs selling 2.00 lower than a pot load of similar weight last week, a part load weighing 735 lbs was not tested but sold with a firm undertone. Demand was good on the steers and moderate to good on the heifers with supply moderate. The best demand was on steers weighing 400-650 lbs and heifers weighing 400-550 lbs going to grass with the bulk of the calves good quality, long timed weaned with shots. Several stick-out sales with a part load of 606 lb steers at 310.75, pot load 856 lb steers at 248.00 and part load of 549 lb heifers at 298.50. Slaughter cows sold steady.
