Compared to last week's very heavy offering and very active market, feeders this week on much lighter receipts held up very well with with 400-550 lb steer calves selling steady to firm, 550-600 lbs sold steady to 5.00 lower on a much lighter offering and overall quality, 600-650 lbs were scarce with 650-700 lbs selling steady to 3.00 higher and over 700 lbs sold with a firm to higher undertone on limited comparisons. Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lbs sold on and active market and traded mostly 5.00-15.00 higher, with 5 weight heifers selling steady to 5.00 lower with the most decline on the 550-600 lb heifers and 600-700 lb heifers sold with a firm to higher undertone on light comparisons. Slaughter cows sold fully steady to firm with several stick-out high dressing cows. Demand was good on a moderate offering with steer and heifer calves selling mostly in small packages and groups as last week calves sold in many large strings and groups. Overall the market held up very well with several groups and a couple of pot loads of yearling steers selling on and active market.
