Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-650 lbs sold 5.00-10.00 lower with last week's very active market, with 650-700 lbs selling steady, 700-850 lbs sold mostly 4.00 lower. Feeder heifers weighing 450-500 lbs sold with a higher undertone compared to last week's much lighter offering with 500-700 lbs trading steady on comparable weights. Demand was moderate to good with several groups of good quality heifers weighing 450-600 lbs with good weighing conditions selling on a very active market and yearling steers weighing 650-815 lb also selling on and active market with good demand, steer calves backed off from their strong prices this week but demand still remains good. Slaughter cows sold steady tp 3.00 lower. Grain markets made moves higher to start the week with tensions in the Black Sea regions with December corn closing 15 cents higher, November soybeans closed 7 cents higher and December wheat contracts for all three US wheats closed 43-57 3/4 cents higher. Feeder Cattle contracts for the front three months closed 232-275 lower.
