Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold mostly 5.00-10.00 higher, with 500-600 lbs trading steady to firm, 600-650 lbs sold firm to 5.00 higher, 700 -800 lbs overall quality and condition did not compare well with last week's good quality offering. Feeder heifers weighing 400-450 lbs on a light test sold with a higher undertone, 450-500 lbs sold steady to firm, 500-550 lbs sold 5.00-12.00 higher with 550-600 lbs selling 3.00-5.00 higher, much lighter offering of 600-700 lbs sold steady to firm, with a pot load of 720 lb heifers trading with a firm undertone. Demand was good on a moderate offering. Steer and heifer calves weighing 400-650 lbs picked up right where they left off last week with a lot of green light weight feeders in Monday's auction weighing from 400-600 lbs selling on a very active market. Feeders over 700 lbs especially steers had a lot of crossbred feeders in the offering and also several groups and loads with weighing conditions not as attractive as last weeks offering. Slaughter cows traded fully steady to firm with instances 2.00-4.00 higher on the high dressing cows.
