Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold steady to instances 5.00 higher, 500-850 lb steers traded 3.00-7.00 higher, Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lb sold steady to firm, with 500-650 lbs selling 3.00-6.00 higher and heifers weighing over 650 lbs sold with a higher undertone on few good comparisons. A very good offering of good quality calves and yearlings sold with good demand on a heavy offering with active bidding despite CME cattle futures having a rough day on Monday with sharp triple-digit losses. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm with instances 2.00-3.00 higher on the high dressing cows.
