Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 450-500 lbs sold steady to spots 3.00 lower, with a light test of 500-550 lb steers selling mostly 5.00-10.00 lower on comparable sales, 550-600 lbs sold 2.00-5.00 lower, 600-750 lbs were lightly tested with last week but sold with a steady to firm undertone on a nice offering, over 750 lbs on a light test sold with a lower undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-550 lbs traded mostly steady, with heifers over 550 lbs selling 4.00-8.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good with supply heavy. A very nice offering of top quality mostly black steers weighing 600-650 lbs sold with the best demand. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady with the bulk average dressing cows. The Stock Market plunged over a 1000 points lower on Monday on global worries that the coronavirius will stall global growth as Ag commodities also had sharp losses with CME cattle futures closing with limit to near limit losses.
