Compared to the last auction two weeks ago, a light test of 450-500 lb steer calves sold steady to firm, with 500-600 lb steers selling firm to 4.00 higher, 6 weight steers were not well tested, a large offering of yearling steers over 700 lbs sold mostly 4.00-6.00 higher on comparable sales from two weeks ago. Feeder heifers weighing under 550 lbs sold steady to firm, with 550-700 lbs selling with a higher undertone on a light test, a pot load of 720 lb heifers off the same consignment from two weeks ago sold near 6.00 higher. Callaway Livestock Center ended the year on a high note with a very nice offering of thirteen pot loads of top quality mostly blk yearlings steers (2 pot loads of heifers) weighing over 700 lbs all selling on a very active market with good demand. There was also a very nice offering of 5 weight steer calves on offer. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm.
