Compared to last Tuesday the market was very uneven and mixed with large discounts seen for quality and condition. Feeder steers 550 to 650 lbs were 8.00 higher while the 500-550 lbs steers were 8.00 lower. Feeder heifers 450 lbs and under were sharply higher, while 500-600 lbs heifers were 3.00 to 5.00 lower with a good supply. Additional premiums were noted and given for weaned and guaranteed open heifers. The feeder bull market was mixed as well. Calves traded from 6.00 lower to 10.00 higher with good demand for larger packages, however heavy discounts were given for off colored or heavy conditioned calves. Slaughter cows were 2.00 to 5.00 higher with good demand, while with limited comparisons, slaughter bulls were steady to 2.00 lower.
