Compared to last week, slaughter steers were 8.00 higher. Holstein slaughter steers were mostly steady to 3.00 higher. Slaughter heifers were 7.00 higher. Holstein slaughter heifers were trending lower based on a limited comparison. Slaughter bulls were 12.00 higher and slaughter cows were 10.00 higher. The winter storm and frigid temperatures this week contributed to lighter receipts today. Strong buyer demand was noted and with lighter than normal receipts, this impacted higher prices.
